About the 57409

The 57409 was a Reliance Electric made Input Module. It was possibly also mass-produced by Baldor Reliance or Asea Brown Boveri depending on what years it was in production. None of these original manufacturers still support the 57409. However, AX Control does try to keep it in stock as a new surplus or refurbished item. Please check our website to see if it is available for purchase.

The 57409 was a Multibus I/O System for the AutoMax. This module was an analog Input mode that allowed for two input channels to be used. It has an input range of +1, 5, 10, and 20 volts. It had a 4 to 20 mA current input range. It had a 12-bit resolution plus polarity and a program interruption ability. The 57409 had the ability to use its software to select sampling rates and input filters.

The 57409 had a high-performance closed-loop control using a variable reference and feedback signals.  The 57409 came with three main components, a printed circuit assembly, a faceplate, and a protective enclosure. This faceplate had a female connector socket that was used to feed external analog signals using a multi-conductor cable that is attached to a terminal strip.  The conductor cable had a mating cable plug and faceplate socket that could not be plugged into anything else.

The 57409 had the ability to be plugged into an AutoMax Card Storage Rack. This card could slide into the female card slots on the backplane of the rack. Then you would attach the brackets on the faceplate to the brackets on the rack using two screws. This allowed for a very secure mounting.
