45C1 Technical Specifications

Manufacturer Reliance Electric
Series AutoMate PLC
Part Number 45C1
Product Type Digital I/O Rail

Product Description

The 45C1 is a Digital I/O Rail created by Reliance Electric. This I/O Rail could have been produced under the Asea Brown Boveri or Baldor Reliance product lines depending on when this item was being manufactured. This part is no longer being supported by the manufacturers. AX Control does try to keep the 45C1 in stock as a refurbished or new surplus part. Please check the website for the availability of this item.

The 45C1 is an Input/Output System that was created for the AutoMate series of Logic Controllers. This system has a unique design.  A typical I/O system is mounted on the rack system and then wired into a completely separate terminal strip. The 45C1 eliminates that step because it has incorporated the wiring and the terminal strip into the I/O rail itself. The terminal strip it has integrated into itself is industrial grade.

The 45C1 has several standard features. It has flexibility when you are mounting it. It can be mounted vertically or side-by-side or in any other way to fit the actual space available to you. This system has standard screw terminals. To fasten to each terminal, the terminal strip uses a self-lifting pressure plate wire terminal. You can then use two #12-gauge stranded wires to connect it to the terminal.  This system has a modular design. This system can be specifically tailored to meet the needs of the I/O. Finally, this system uses two screw terminal per channel. To allow for separate electrical commons, the I/O channel comes with two screw terminals. If it is needed for those commons to be joined together, you can use an optional jumper strip.

Frequently Asked Questions about 45C1

How should I mount a Reliance 45C1?
Mount 45C1 in a vertical column with the AutoMate processor to fully emulate the terminal strip or mount 45C1 and the processor side-by-side or in another arrangement based on space.
What does putting a terminal strip into 45C1 do?
By putting a terminal strip into the 45C1 I/O rail itself, the cost of added labor and intermediate wiring are eliminated.
