Product Description

The GP377-PF21 is a Profibus-DP Slave I/F unit designed to be used in conjunction with GP377 HMIs.  This is a popular HMI series from Proface Xycom.  The unit is also compatible with some GP27*, GP477, and GP577 units.  The GP377-PF21 is CE marked.  It conforms to EMC directives EN61000-6-2 and EN55011 class A.   The power consumption is higher when used with some GP477 and GP577 units, increasing from 20W max to 50W max.  Environmental specifications may also change.  

The GP377-PF21 is designed for use in an operating temperature range of zero to 50 degrees Celsius in relative humidity (non condensing) of 20 to 85%.  The operating atmosphere should be free of corrosive gases. 

This unit attaches to the back of the GP HMI unit.  It weighs less than 180 grams and has external dimensions of 110.9 mm by 119.4 mm by 20.0 mm.   The unit supports baud rates varying between 9.6 kbit/s to 12000 kbit/s.  Baud rate is determined by cable length, with shorter cabling having a faster baud rate. 

The front of the GP377-PF21 includes an on/off switch, network status LEDs, a Profibus-DP network connector, node ID selection switches, and a connector to the main unit.  The node id is coded in hexadecimal.
