Overview

The GP2301-SC41-24V is a basic operator interface from Pro-face/Xycom in the GP-2300/2301 series. This model has a 5.7" STN color display and operates on 24V of DC power. This is a more basic model than its 2300 model counterpart. Features like memory capacity and interface capabilities are reduced in this unit, although most standard features expected in an industrial HMI are still present.

Interface Features

This external interface capabilities of this unit are a serial interface connector, a tool connector, and a CF card interface. The serial interface uses RS-232C/RS-422 standards. The tool connector can be used for several purposes, such as data transfer between the unit and application software. There is one CF card slot.

The display is in a 320 by 240 pixels resolution. The STN display can produce up to 64 different colors with 3-speed blink. The CCFL backlight can be adjusted to 4 different brightness levels and contrast can be adjusted to 8 levels. The effective display area of this model is 115.2 mm wide by 86.4 mm high.

The GP2301-SC41-24V is a good basic HMI system. Features that many operators would require from an HMI can be found in this system and then some, like the color display, serial interfaces, and language support. The backlight is the same one that was in many other HMIs of its generation, and therefore carries an expected 50,000 hour service life. If you know that you will not need the features offered by the 00 model or newer HMIs, the GP2301-SC41-24V is a great budget option. -AX Control Lead Technician
