This Parker Eurotherm Solid State Drive LINK Open Frame Modem (manufacturer part number designated as L5214-2-10) is a distributed control system designed for the management and control of motor drives and associated equipment, and it is also well-suited for other functions, like process control. The Open Frame Modem is activated within a connected system network, and is able to connect to several other modules in order to fully transfer data and receive and transmit system commands to the motor drive systems.
The software tools on the L5214 are advanced. Initially, these programs were only able to run on IBM PC-compatible computers, but the L5214 Modem includes these programs like Manager, Setup and Monitor (SAM), and Configuration Editor (ConfigEd). Module configurations are comprised of function blocks and other elements designated through the use of ConfigEd. These programs allow operators to install, monitor, modify, and be able to backup network setups.
