About the 8903/AI

The 8903/AI is a high resolution Analog Input Option from the AC890 series by Parker and SSD Drives. The 8903/AI can be used with either 890 Standalone Drives or 890 Common Bus Drives. 

The 8903/AI adds a sixth analogue input to the 890 drives, which can be used within a configuration or directly as the speed setpoint for fast response time. This option also provides an incremental encoder input and output. 

There are several features that are important to the 8903/AI. Some of these features are:

  • -10/+10V optically isolated analogue input with a resolution of 15 bits + sign
  • input channels compatible with RS422/RS485 encoders 
  • decoding logic to interface the encoder input to the drive's microprocessor
