About the 8902/RR

The 8902/RR is from the AC890 series and is designed to be used with Standalone Drives and Common Bus Drive. This option has two different functions:

  • Resolver Interface 
  • Emulated Encoder 

When acting as a Resolver Interface, this option allows resolvers to connect directly to the drive which helps to provide more accurate speed feedback measurements. There are two differential inputs on the Sin and Cos channels. The 8902/RR also has a carrier output signal to power the resolver. 

The 8902/RR has three differential outputs, which allows for the emulated encoder option. When acting as the emulated encoder, the option is compatible with RS422 and RS485.
