About the 8902/M1

The 8902/M1 is a Sin/Cos Registration Option manufactured by Parker and SSD Drives. This option card can be used in the AC890 Variable Frequency Drives series. 

The card can be fitted to 890SD and 890CD drives. The purpose of the 8902/M1 is to allow Sin/Cos encoders to connect to the drive to provide speed feedback registration and measurement. 

The 8902/M1 can decode logic in order to interface the encoder to the drive's microprocessor. The specific encoder that the 8902/M1 can decode is the Heidenhain Endat 2.1 absolute position Encoder. The 8902/M1 can supply either 5V or 10V to the encoder. 

The card has to alternate part numbers that indicate where the card is fitted:

  • 8902-M1-00-00
    • Fitted in the Option F position 
  • 8902-M1-00-FF
    • Factory-fitted option
