About the 8902/EQ

The 8902/EQ is an HTTL Speed Feedback Option from the AC890 series by Parker and SSD Drives. The 8902/EQ allows for an incremental encoder to be directly connected to the drive in order to give precise speed feedback measurements. 

This option either comes factory fitted, which is indicated by the part number of 8902-EQ-00-FF, or it can be slotted into Option F, which can be seen in the part number 8902-EQ-00-00. 

The 8902/EQ has several features that are important for the option card. These features are:

  • Three optically isolated differential inputs on channels A, B, and M
  • Decode logic to interface the encoder to the microprocessor 
  • Supplies variable voltage and has an isolated encoder power supply
