About the 8902/E1

The 8902/E1 is a Sin/Cos Feedback Option designed for the AC890 Standalone and Common Bus Drives. The option was manufactured by Parker and SSD Drives. 

This option allows Sin/Cos encoders direct connection to the drive, which helps to give accurate speed feedback measurement. The 8902/E1 has an adjustable supply of either 5V or 10V given to the encoder. The 8902/E1 has two decoding uses:

  • decoding logic to interface encoder to the microprocessor 
  • decoding Heidenhain Endat 2.1 Absolute Position Encoders 

The 8902/E1 has a factory fitted option, which is signified as an 8902/E1/00/FF. There is also an option with the part number 8902/E1/00/00, which can be slotted into the Option F opening in the drive.
