The KV-40RW from Keyence’s KV series is one of the companies smallest programmable logic controllers (PLCs). These are super small PLCs that take up about the same amount of space as three general-purpose relays. Designed to be user-friendly and capable of fitting where other PLCs cannot go, the KV series can be configured in a number of different ways using base and expansion models.
The KV-40RW is a base unit. This unit can connect to up to three expansion units if more analog inputs and outputs are needed for your particular setup. The basic unit is also PC compatible, which makes software support easier. Additionally, the unit can connect to a handheld programmer (KV-P3E) for another editing option.
The KV-40RW supports Windows and can be debugged through a PC.
The KV-40RW includes two analog timer trimmers. This allows real-time adjustment to timer and counter values in real time using actual operating conditions. It has a maximum clock frequency of 2 kHz. The unit does not require battery backup due to EEPROM program storage. The memory capacity is 3000 steps.
The KV-40RW has 24 inputs with one common. It has 16 outputs with six commons. Outputs are relay-type. If you need MOSFET instead, please look at our listing for a KV-40T model instead.
