Product Description

The KV-10R is a conventional KV series programmable logic controller (PLC) from Keyence.  This is one of several modules available for sale here at AX Control.  We have units from both Keyence’s Conventional and Visual KV series.  The difference between these two series lies in the Access Window that is part of the Visual series.  

The KV-10R is a small AC-type programmable logic controller.  The unit has screw-type terminal blocks for fast connections to both inputs and outputs.   This unit offers fast scan times (140μs).  It has an execution time of 0.7 μs.    Because this unit has a built-in AC power supply it can be used in spaces where switching power units will not fit. 

The KV-10R offers ladder support software and ladder builder.  It is typically used with a handheld programmer (KV-P3E) or some other type of peripheral, like a personal computer or a memory card.   The unit includes common transistor output, interrupt function, input time change function, and memory backup function. 

Before opening up any KV PLC, it is necessary to read through Keyence documentation for all general precautions.  The OEM recommends users do not modify the unit in any way beyond those things described within documentation specifications.   Using KV PLCs in close proximity with other machinery can affect this unit’s performance and functions.  This is due to operating conditions and possible heat build-up.  Be sure to allow for enough distance between units to allow for cooling so the unit can maintain a proper temperature.   For more information please consult Keyence manuals.
