HE693OIU357 is an HE693OIU interface that is manufactured by Horner APG. This interface includes an RS-485 port for an SNP connection and an RS-232 port for programming. There is a 20 key numeric keypad and 12 programmable function keys. There is a 2 x 20 vacuum fluorescent display. The character height is 0.44”. The interface also includes a real-time calendar clock, multi-dropped PLC support, hand held programmer emulation, SNP pass through, linear scaling, double integer read/write, serial printer support, I/O mapped LEDs, and alarm enunciation capability. The interface is configurable from the keypad and via IBM software. The dimensions are 185 mm x 299 mm x 54 mm.

There can be a maximum of four fields displaying PLC data per screen. There can be a maximum of 40 total characters on this display, because it is a 2 line x 20 character display. Up to 1000 different PLC data registers (4 data fields on each of 250 screens) could be supported by a 2 line version of the OIU. However, not all screens must contain data. The two types of data fields are read-only data fields and read-write data fields. The operator may not change a read-only data field, but the operator may change read-write data fields. The types of screens include production information screens, machine status screens, machine setpoints screens, operator prompting screens, alarm enunciation screens, and troubleshooting screens. The keypad can access production information screens. The PLC forces operator prompting screens and alarm enunciation screens. Troubleshooting screens can be accessed by a password on the keypad.
