HE800THM200 is an 8-Channel Thermocouple/Millivolt Input Module that is manufactured by Horner APG as a part of the SmartStack HE800 series.
The PLC scan rate sets the PLC update rate. The internal resolution is 0.05°C. The differential input impedance is >20 meg. Ohm clamped at ± 24 VDC. This module has an integrating A/D conversion type. The required power (steady-state) is 1.2 W (50 mA @ 24 VDC). The required power (inrush) is negligible. Types supported in this module include J, K, T, E, C, R, S. The millivolt ranges are ± 25 mv, ± 50 mv, and ± 100 mv. The millivolt accuracy is 0.1% of the full scale. The common-mode range is ± 10 VDC (max). The A/D conversion time is 12 channels per second. The cold junction compensation is internal. The maximum sustained differential O/L is limited by the common-mode range. The open thermocouple response is high temperature.
The weight of this module is 10 Oz. When configuring this unit, the sensor type for each channel must match what is physically attached, the filter constant sets the level of digital filtering, and the reject rate sets the frequency level for noise rejection at 50 or 60 Hz. The user must wire this module with shielded, twisted-pair wiring. The shields must be terminated to the frame ground. Shields should be tied directly to the ground block with the panel in severe applications. It is preferred that the user implement ungrounded thermocouple sensors, due to their isolated electrical characteristics.
