The HE 500 line of Operator Control Stations was originally produced, built, and developed by the industrial automation manufacturers Horner Electric. Since this series of OCS models have been marked as outdated and their lineup pulled from production lines, the company has renamed themselves into Horner APG.
These HE 500 units were developed as a set of all in one units, in order to replace the need to procure three separate models to achieve the numerous duties that this unit was designed to cover. The HE 500 models eliminate the need for an individual Operator Interface module, as one is built in to the unit. Purchasing one of the HE 500 models also gets rid of the need for a controller module, as the advanced, Windows based, 32 bit Cscape programming enables these units to perform those same functions. Input and output modules are also integrated into the frame of these HE 500 OSC models, as is in line with most industrial standards.
The HE500TIU110J-001 module, listed above, is a part of their category of Terminal Interface Units, and is outfitted with a 40 character, two line display set, with an LCD (liquid crystal display) set up. The backlighting capabilities of this model allow for the unit to properly be lit up in its entirety, but also, uniquely, it can light up the individual characters on display, which allows for more energy and power saved in its use.
