This device is one of the many models in Horner Electric’s lineup of Operator Control Stations. These models are classified as the HE 500 series, an all in one device that does the work of three separate pieces of technology. The company, Horner Electric, designed and produced these units, though they are now entirely out of production, due to their age as hardware and the growth of industrial technology. The company has also renamed itself, as it is now known as Horner APG.
The HE 500 model’s graphic display is fully integrated into the unit, and is equipped with a thin film transistor. This TFT unit is able to render the text and informational graphics in a high quality display. The graphics are designed for a better process visualization while the devices and the units it controls are being utilized. Reports for the machine indication are also shown on the display interface.
The memory for the HE 500 series is integrated via a memory card module, a MicroSD card. This card is fully capable of supporting the necessary support updates for these programs. The connections available for this unit include a serial port module, and download port modules, and there is also an Ethernet, wireless and telephone modem options.
The HE500OCS071 module in particular is outfitted with a total of 28 input and output modules. There are 16 input modules, that can withstand 12 to 24 VDC, and 12 positive logic output modules. The outputs are able to withstand from 5 to 24 VDC.
