This unit is a part of the HE 500 lineup of Operator Control Station modules. These all in one models were initially developed by the Horner Electric company (which is now under the name Horner APG). This unit is classified with the ID designation of HE500OCS031.

The HE 500 lineup of operator control stations shares a wide array of features and integrated pieces of hardware. These models are much more compact in size to allow for easier placement and more space for other industrial equipment. The HE 500 modules include a graphic operation interface, which is built for a better, much more efficient process visualization. The memory that this unit is compatible with is the MicroSD memory card, a fully removable card that can store data locally, and is able to support program updates to these units. There is a large number of input and output ports into these units, and also includes a set of download and serial ports. Each of the I/O ports included each come with a removable terminal block. There are also options for on site and remote connectivity via EtherNet, or a wireless/telephone modem.

The HE500OCS031 module in particular is outfitted with 8 input ports and 8 output ports. The power intake that this unit requires is a range of 12 to 24 volts of direct current, or 0.5 ampere watts.
