General Electric Multilin’s UR-8SH is a CT/VT module that supplies a Universal Relay unit with standard 7ECT/1EVT. 

The Universal Relays are designed with scalability in mind, allowing users to efficiently replace old modules or install new modules that weren’t originally ordered with the UR unit.

1. Disconnect control power from the unit to prevent the risk of system harm, misoperation, or operator injury. Open the faceplate to the left after pushing up the sliding latch or unscrewing the screw (depending on whether the Universal Relay is the enhanced or standard model), enabling quick access to the module bay.

2. Simultaneously pull the ejector clips to allow the module to be removed from its affixed position. Carefully slide the module from its slot while jotting down the slot on paper; the new module must be installed into the same slot, as modules can only be replaced with like modules.

3. Firmly insert the new module and engage the ejector clips simultaneously, affixing the module into its slot. The module’s Plug & Play capabilities allows it to begin functioning quickly once connections are made and power is restored to the unit.
