Frequently Asked Questions about UR-8SH
What is a UR-8SH in relation to the UR series of universal Multilin relays?
A UR-8SH is a CT/VT module, which means that it provides the universal relay with up to 24 voltage transformer signals and current transformer signals (analog). These signals can then be used by the universal relay to monitor the AC power lines depending on the application of that specific universal relay. The universal relays are designed to provide the user with the most comprehensive features to minimize some of the need for additional products. The CT/VT options are variable to allow the end user to choose which scheme is most applicable to their use, such as either differential protection or concurrent split-phase configuration schemes. The Multilin universal relays also have variability in the flexibility of the I/O modules. For instance, a large option pool of input signals or tripping schemes is available. The Form-A can be used for a high density output, and for normal outputs the Form A, SSR, Form-C, or mechanical latch relays can be selected. These are simply two of many variable characteristics of the universal relay to allow the user to tailor their specific Multilin UR series universal relay to an individual unique application.
