Frequently Asked Questions about UR-8JH
What is the application of the UR-8JH to the Multilin universal relays?
The UR Series of universal relays are made for supervision, protection, and control applications of power situations within industrial systems. The UR relays are variable in their function. Some UR Multilin relays are characterized as generation relays, such as the G60 for medium to large generators or the G30 for small or medium generators. Both units provide generators with protection (primary and backup) and monitoring elements. Other universal Multilin relays play a role in transmission and distribution applications. The D90 plus for example is a Sub-Cycle distance protection module to allow for the maintenance of transmission lines. Another transmission and distribution universal relay is the D30, which provides backup distance protection to UR series universal Multilin relays. Regardless of the function of the specific UR relay, each UR relay contains a CT/VT module. The UR-8JH is a newer CT/VT module with sensitive ground 8CT functions. The 8C order option, since it is a new module, must be matched with a new CPU module (9E, 9G, 9H, 9J, 9K, 9L, 9M, 9N, 9P, 9R, or 9S). The UR-8JH provides a Multilin universal relay with up to 24 analog current transformer and voltage transformer signals.
