General Electric Multilin’s UR-7IH is a module in the Universal Relays series, offering two channels for interrelay communications. The channels are LED-based and function at a wavelength of 1300 nm. The channels are multi-mode as opposed to single-mode.
The modules are easy to install, requiring a short process with only a few notes to ensure the process goes smoothly:

Remove control power from the relay to eliminate the risk of injury, misoperation, or system damage. Open the faceplate to the left after pushing up the sliding latch or unscrewing the screw (depending on the Universal Relay), enabling easy access to the module bay.

Simultaneously pull the ejector clips to free the module from its affixed position. Gently slide the module out of the slot while noting the slot down on paper; the new module must be placed into the same slot, as modules can only be replaced with similar modules.

Smoothly insert the new module and engage the ejector clips simultaneously, fixing the relay into its slot. The module’s Plug & Play capabilities allow it to begin functioning immediately once control power is restored.
