About the UR-6AV
General Electric Multilin’s UR-6AV is a Digital I/O module that provides digital input/output contacts to the UR series. Users should consider purchasing this model if system needs expand and/or their Universal Relay did not originally come with the digital I/O feature (denoted by the “XX” in its model number). Additionally, this module can function as a replacement or upgrade for users struggling with their current module. This version of the module contains both Form-A and Form-C outputs, which are described in chart form below:
| Form-A Contacts |
Form-C Contacts |
| Open Contacts |
Switching/Changeover Contacts |
| One NO Terminal |
One Open NO Terminal |
| One Common Terminal |
One Common C Terminal |
| Isolated from Signal Ground |
One Normal Closed NC Terminal |
| One C Terminal |
Isolated from Signal Ground |
The relay’s FlexLogic technology assists in determining how the system receives digital and analog inputs that are used to produce digital and analog outputs. FlexLogic is unique to General Electric Multilin and is a highly configurable programming logic that increases the general versatility of the system. Users can execute up to 1024 lines of code that highly specify relay functionality.
UR-6AV Outputs and Ordering
The Form-A outputs have activation speeds that are less than 4ms. Form-A outputs (and SSR outputs) are beneficial to the end user because they can come with optional circuit detection if needed. The UR-6AV does have the optional current monitoring feature. This particular digital I/O module does not have a mechanically latching configuration, but in the event that this order code is selected it can help eliminate the need for a lockout relay. The order code with the most variability is the 6V option order code for a Multilin digital I/O module. This order specification includes:
- 2 Form-A outputs
- with optional voltage monitoring
- a Form-C output
- two outputs that have latching features
- eight digital inputs
