General Electric Multilin’s B30-K03-HLH-F8N-H67-L8L-N6D-S8N-U4A-W7A is a highly configurable Bus Differential System. Part of Multilin’s Universal Relays series, this model includes 16 contact inputs and 4 solid-state MOSFET outputs, differentiating it from many of the other models in the product series.

The relay runs on a versatile setpoint system that can be heavily edited by relay users for optimal relay performance. These setpoints can be edited from a computer running the EnerVista UR program or manually through the relay’s keypad and LCD located on the faceplate. Setpoints include options such as, THERMAL PROTECTION, CONTACT INPUT, VIRTUAL INPUT, and CONTACT OUTPUT. These setpoints can increase system efficiency as users gain a better understanding using the relay’s monitoring capabilities.

The B30-K03-HLH-F8N-H67-L8L-N6D-S8N-U4A-W7A is capable of self-testing and determining if contact outputs and inputs are functioning appropriately. It can also assess a phasor measurement unit if in use in addition to the functionality of the relay’s various communications features. This feature uses simulated conditions to run these self-assesments, which allows the relay to gather data without impacting/engaging the power system adversely. 

The B30-K03-HLH-F8N-H67-L8L-N6D-S8N-U4A-W7A Universal Relay’s safeguarding capabilities include phase undervoltage/overvoltage protection, phase directional overcurrent protection, breaker failure protection, and thermal overload protection. Protective elements such as thermal overload protection use user-specified durations and thresholds to determine when to activate a trip and shield components; estimated accumulated thermal energy curves determine when the system enters these thresholds and can then take appropriate action.
