The SPM Synchronous Motor Protection & Control's SPM product is named as such as it is the base model available for this particular product series. The primary intended function of this basic SPM device involves the start-up, synchronization, and protection functions for both collector-ring and brushless styles of synchronous motor units. To be more specific, some of the protection options offered by the base SPM unit will include:
