Equipped with thermal modeling capabilities, the MM300-BEHPSCAGG is a Motor Management system produced by General Electric. This relay is part of the MM300 series, which is a modular unit designed for easy upgradeability. The MM300 unit is capable of protecting, controlling, metering, and monitoring low voltage motor systems. It combines all of these features, including communications, in one compact unit, which reduces the need for extraneous equipment. Some of the specific protective features include overload curve applications, voltage protection, unbalance correction, and ground fault detection. The features, amongst others, help to extend motor life and reduce system downtime.
The relay also works with General Electric Multilin’s EnerVista technology, a software program which can work with the relay to provide additional capabilities and tools. For example, the Viewpoint Monitoring platform is an easy-to-use data recording and monitoring software package. It offers Plug & Play device monitoring, alarm screens, trending reports, automatic event retrieval, and automatic waveform retrieval. Another EnerVista tool, the ViewPoint Engineer, allows operators to adjust settings in a graphical environment. These tool suites offer features that go far beyond what the relay offers without connection to a computer running the EnerVista program. MM300 units with a “G” at the start of the product number contain a USB port that allows for easier connection from a computer to the relay; however, this particular unit only contains the basic control panel without a USB.
