Product Description

The 745-W2-P15-G1-LO-A-R is a transformer management relay produced by GE Multilin and protects transformer systems by monitoring and responding to physical and electronic variables, such as harmonics, overexcitation, temperature, and currents. The 745 is able to adapt to shifting conditions within the transformer system, taking necessary steps to alleviate strain. It is able to protect and manage transformer systems small, medium, and large. Users can establish setpoints (analogous to settings) that help determine how the relay manages and protects the system. Setpoints can be easily saved and loaded from file using a computer running EnerVista 745 connected to the device’s RS232 port.

The body of the device itself is divided up into approximately four sections, which includes the display, status indicators, keypad, and RS232 interface. The display is a forty character LCD which is capable of displaying screens needed to assign and edit setpoints. The liquid crystal display also can indicate errors as they emerge, especially in response to incorrect keypad entry. The liquid crystal display can also passively read off different system values when not in active use, and users can edit the relay’s settings to shift what appears during the idle process. In addition to the LCD, a number of LEDs located at the front of the case provide insight into system functionality, indicating if issues such as self-test errors or transformer overloads occur. The keypad can be used to manually adjust setpoints, and the RS232 port can connect computers running the EnerVista 745 software to the 745 relay itself, which allows for quicker and easier programmability.

Frequently Asked Questions about 745-W2-P15-G1-LO-A-R

What is the FlexLogic feature included with the General Electric Multilin 745-W2-P15-G1-Lo-A-R Transformer Protection System?
The FlexLogic of the 745-W2-P15-G1-Lo-A-R Transformer Protection System allows the unit to compute PLC equations by using logical inputs and protection elements that can be adapted to any output.
What options does the General Electric Multilin 745-W2-P15-G1-Lo-A-R Transformer Protection System have?
The General Electric Multilin 745-W2-P15-G1-Lo-A-R Transformer Protection System has the A and the R options which indicate analog inputs and outputs and a restricted ground fault.
What testing capabilities does the GE Multilin 745-W2-P15-G1-Lo-A-R have?
The Multilin 745-W2-P15-G1-Lo-A-R has features that make it a great transformer protection system. It has simulation and testing features so that the operator can test the relay operation  by looking at either waveform data that is captured in the field or that is generated by a computer. This waveform data is then digitized and can be played back. Waveform data can also be recorded to look at fault, alarm, or inrush situations and conditions.
Can you tell me more about the restricted ground fault element for the General Electric Multilin 745-W2-P15-G1-Lo-A-R Transformer Protection System?
The restricted ground fault element for the General Electric Multilin 745-W2-P15-G1-Lo-A-R Transformer Protection System includes two elements with a dropout level of 97 to 98% of puckup. The minumum pickup is generally 0.02 to 20.000 x CT which makes this option a great inclusion in the transformer protection system.
