About the 469-P1-HI-A1-E-H

Able to function as a standalone unit or integrated into an existing system, General Electric Multilin’s 469-P1-HI-A1-E-H is intended for the management and protection of medium to large motors. The 469 is a Motor Management Relay with a number of adaptive capabilities that assist it in preserving motor life and reducing troubleshooting times, such as torque protection and dual overload curves.

In regard to communication functions, the 469-P1-HI-A1-E-H has an RS232 port at the front of the relay and two RS485 ports at the back of the relay. Both ports can wire direct connections to a computer running the EnerVista 469 software program. The EnerVista program allows easier setpoint editing, data viewing, and data trending. The EnerVista software can also export this data for analysis.

This version of the part comes with a conformal coating, a thin, polymeric protective film that deters corrosion, dust, humidity, and extreme temperatures. The conformal coating increases the durability of the relay and makes it safer for harsh operating environments. Conformal coating can be added to other relays in the series as well, as AX Control can apply it in house.

The 469 is encased in a standard SR 469 series chassis, consisting of a drawout unit and a dust-deterring door. The relay is fixed into the case through a number of pins, and installation is relatively simple when following the advice provided by the manufacturer in the 1601-0122-AG instruction manual.

Frequently Asked Questions about 469-P1-HI-A1-E-H

Why does the 469-P1-HI-A1-E-H provide the added feature of conformal coating?
Conformal Coating Standards were added to certain 469 Series Relays in order to protect the unit when subject to harsh conditions such as humidity, corrosion, or high levels of particulates. Conformal Coating is factory applied to ensure that all components on the PCB are adequately and correctly protected. The letter H in the part number 469-P1-HI-A1-E-H indicates that the harsh chemical of conformal coating is applied to this GE Motor Management Relay.
What are the phase currents for the 469-P1-HI-A1-E-H?
This 469 has 3 specific channels for phase current inputs. This model precisely measures up to 20 times the nominal rating of the phase current but it is essential that the user chooses a phase CT in order that the FLA is not any less than fifty percent of the rated phase CT primary. Each user must set this to fit their specific application. The P1 in the part number 469-P1-HI-A1-E-H means the phase current inputs are 1A phase CT secondaires. The nominal phase current of a 1A and a 5A must match the second rate and connected CTs or the motor management relay can be damaged. The CTs pass through a grounded current input when the 1A or 5A tap is used, they can be used for either a 0 sequence or a core balance application. A connection of residual ground is can be used also where the summation of the 3 phase CT currents pass through.
What are the menu navigation displays of the GE Motor Management Relay 469-P1-HI-A1-E-H?
The navigation of the menu for the GE Motor Management Relay has three display types of messages which are either target messages, settings, and actual value. Information on the sturcture of the menu for the actual value and the setting messages can be found in the manual in chapters 5 and 6. By selecting the "actual values" in the menu bar, it will open tabs that have data on metering, motor learned, maintenance, oscillography and data logging downloading tool, event recording down loading tool, product information, RTD learned data, and motor system status. More information on these specific tabs can be found in the manual in chapter 4.
