Product Description

269PLUS-DO-211-120N-120VAC is a motor protection system in the 269 Plus Motor Management Relay Series by GE Multilin. The purpose of this system is to act as a layer of protection for 3-phase AC electric motors from damage due to temperature and electrical hazards. The operating voltage for the controller on this protection system is 120 VAC. The system uses resistance thermal detectors (RTD) to determine thermal conditions while current transformers (CTs) are used to determine electrical conditions. The system uses 120 Ohm nickel based RTDs.

The protection system uses the EnerVista Launchpad software package to run its internal needs, including setup and support. The software can communicate to external devices using a variety of methods including serial, ethernet, and modem. Configuration files can also be created externally and transmitted to the protection system. EnerVista also comes available with a toolkit, which includes GE Multilin Drivers as well as Automatic Event and Waveform Retrieval abilities.

The back of the system panel contains a variety of inputs and outputs that are needed to fully utilize the protection capabilities. There are 10 RTD inputs on the back of the panel which are divided into 3 sections. RTD 1-3 and 4-6 inputs are typically used for stator winding protection. RTD 7-10 are typically used for monitoring ambient temperature as well as motor and load bearing temperature. Additionally, the back of the panel contains the control power inputs and the four output relays. There are also the phase and ground CT inputs and a contrast dial for the screen.

Frequently Asked Questions about 269PLUS-DO-211-120N-120VAC

What differentiates the 269PLUS-DO-211-120N-120VAC from the 269PLUS-DO-211-100N-120VAC?
Both of these 269 PLUS Multilin motor management relays are very similar. The 269PLUS-DO-211-100N-120VAC and the 269PLUS-DO-211-120N-120VAC primarily differ in their RTD material. The 269PLUS-DO-211-120N-120VAC contains the specification 120 N which indicates that this RTD is composed of 120 Ohm nickel RTD. In contrast, the 269PLUS-DO-211-100N-120VAC has the option 100 N and is composed of 100 Ohm of nickel RTD. Apart from this difference, both digital 269 PLUS Multilin relays are drawout versions and have the same specifications for relay fail safe codes, relay contact arrangements, and phase and ground CTs (211).
What is the undercurrent function for the Multilin Multilin GE 269PLUS-DO-211-120N-120VAC Programmable Motor Management Relay?
The undercurrent function is also known as the minimum oad funtion. This feature is useful for detection of loss of airflow for fan systems, loss of pump suction, a broken conveyor belt, etc. This function will pick up on any condition that causes a decreased motor load. This feature is simply another way the Multilin GE 269PLUS-DO-211-120N-120VAC  can both monitor and protect medium sized AC motors.
What are some main advantages of the General Electric 269PLUS-DO-211-120N-120VAC digital relay?
The General Electric 269PLUS-DO-211-120N-120VAC digital relay and motor management relay 269 PLUS is designed to provide key benefits that reduce time needed to troubleshoot a failed motor and help diagnose the problem in a timely manner. Some of the capabilities for this purpose are temperature monitoring (with RTDs), current unbalance and RTD biasing, installation flexibility and testing simplicity.
