GE Fanuc Automation manufactures IC800VMM30LNKSE25, a VersaMotion servo motor without a brake.

Rotate the servo motor shaft by hand to ensure that the servo motor shaft rotates freely. A good motor will have a smooth rotation. Before installing, check the motor for damage and loose screws. The equipment may have been damaged during shipment. If the package must be stored, keep in a dry, clean location out of direct sunlight. Keep the package on a solid surface and away from corrosive gases and liquids. Store in an ambient temperature environment between -20° C and 65° C and at a non-condensing relative humidity range of 0% to 90%. Before storing, ensure that the motor, drive, and amplifier are correctly packaged. When installing the motor, ensure that it operates between 0° C and 40° C. Do not mount the motor where vibration, shock, temperature, and humidity will exceed the specifications.

This motor has a rated output power of 3000 watts. The enclosure (minus the shaft opening) has an IP65 rating. The user must match the servo motor to the correct size servo drive by matching the power ratings. If the motor and drive specifications do not match, both units may overheat and activate the servo alarm. Failure to properly align the servo motor, coupling, and rotating device may cause unexpected loads or premature failure of the servo motor. Increase the wire gauge of the encoder and motor connection cables if the length of cable connection between servo drive and motor is more than 20 m.
