This QuickPanel model is one of the 10.5 inch touch screen modules, as a part of General Electric’s series of human/machine interface units. This model, the QPI-31200-S2P, provides up to four times the viewing area, compared to the 6 inch mini series. The visual display that this model provides is in a super twisted nematic display, in full color, with an image resolution of 640 x 480 pixels.
As this is the largest model of the touch screens in this series, the dimensions are a lot larger, with a width of over a foot long, (12.48 inches, or 317 millimeters), a height of up to 9.57 inches, or 243 mm, and then an increased depth 3.35 inches, or 85 mm. The weight is less than 7.72 pounds, or 3.5 kilograms. The frame of this model is covered with a 4X/12 NEMA graded, IP-65 rated protective case. This case provides protection from blunt force damage, and environmental hazards, like invasive dust particles and water damage.
The hardware that’s integrated into this model includes both a single serial port, and a single download port. Unfortunately, no auxiliary Input or Output ports are available on this unit.
The memory capabilities still remain the same as previous models in the series, with just only 2 megabytes of memory, formatted into Flash EPROM memory (erasable, programmable, and read only memory). These 2 megabytes provide and expanded application memory, which allows for a more detailed series of screens for diagnostics.
