The GE UC2000 Motherboard DS215UCIAG1AZZ05A  is populated with a modular-type connector that enables a daughter card to be connected to the board. Standoffs are located on the board that enables the daughter card to be physically attached to the board while the modular connector provides power and signal connections. Two daughter cards are compatible with the board and the choice of which to use depends on the requirements of the site.

The block of 10 LEDs embedded on the board provide a status of the board health and if an error occurs, the LEDs provide information about the problem. The LEDs are visible when the drive is operating. The operator can locate the board and determine the state of the board by determining the pattern of the flashing LEDs. When normal processing is occurring, the LEDs flash off and on in sequence from left to right. When an error code is generated, the LEDs flash in a sequence to provide the error code.
