Product Description
The General Electric DS215SDCCG1AZZ01A is a drive control card developed for the Mark V series of boards. Contained on this card is the primary control circuitry as well as the system software. Uses for this card include drive applications for AC2000, DC2000, and EX2000 series drives. The board consists of three microprocessors as well as a dual ported RAM.
Microprocessors found on DS215SDCCG1AZZ01A include a drive control processor (DCP), a motor control processor (MCP), and a co-motor processor (CMP). Peripheral functions as well as analog and digital I/O are processed using the DCP. Programs such as address decoders, wait-state generators, and interrupt controllers are all executed with this processor. The MCP performs motor control functions as well as system I/O functions. If the processing power of the MCP is not enough to perform control algorithms, the CMP will take over. This processor possess the extra processing power required to compute advanced mathematical calculations. Storage space is integrated into the five memory chips found on the drive. Fault code display occurs using the bank of ten on-board LEDs. Codes will display to users in either binary coded decimal (BCD) or binary form.
GE provides storage and installation parameters that should be met to ensure the card and its installed drive functions properly. A complete installation guide for the card is available in the part’s manual as well as the datasheet. Technical support for DS215SDCCG1AZZ01A was originally provided by General Electric.
