Product Description
The GE Field Exciter Board DS2020FECNRX025A features 7 jumpers and 2 terminal blocks with 3 terminals on each. The jumpers are identified as JP1 through JP7. The GE Line Protection Board DS2020FECNRX025A also contains multiple prong-type connectors. The board is installed on standoffs on another component of the drive. The signal wires that connect to the board originate on the component to which it is attached.
The jumpers are used when the first board from the factory is installed in the drive. The original drive comes from the factory with complete instructions about how to install the board in the drive. It describes the use of a wrist strap to lessen the opportunity for static build up and it details the safety warnings. Warnings include instructions about powering off the drive before installing the board. The drive will have multiple sources of current and the installer must shut off all power before beginning the installation.
The jumpers are also described in the guide. The jumpers enable the user to change the behavior of the drive by changing the position of the jumpers. The guide will describe the options. When the unit is delivered from the factory the jumpers are in the default position. The default is the most common position. If need be you can change the position to the alternate position. Both positions are supported. Some jumpers have only one position because the alternate is supported for use by the factory only. For example the alternate jumper position might be used during product testing by the factory.
