Product Description
DS2020EXPSG1 EX2000 GE Exciter Power Supply Card module
The DS2020EXPSG1 is a modified power supply card manufactured by General Electric for use within the Mark V Speedtronic series. General Electric no longer manufactures MKV components. However, these are available from AX Control as tested, reconditioned units.
The DS2020EXPSG1 functions as an Exciter Power Supply card module. This circuit board typically fits within the EX2000 brushless generator excitation system. This is a microprocessor controlled power converter with both an exciter field current regulator and a terminal voltage regulator.
The DS2020EXPSG1 is built upon a metal base with two top hat flanges. This attaches to a second metal carrier that carries a second circuit board and also attaches to the top plexiglass shield. The plexiglass shield carries a large high voltage label. The bottom metal carrier is factory drilled in four places to facilitate mounting.
The lower circuit board portion of the DS2020EXPSG1 is mounted to the lower carrier by standoffs mounted into pre-drilled holes. The lower board is a DS200GDPA board, carrying components like transformers, stab-on connectors, heat sinks, fuse components, transistors, wire-wound resistors, and high-voltage capacitors. The board also has several LED indicators.
The upper circuit board portion of the DS2020EXPSG1 is a DS200EXPS board. This board is mounted to the surface of the top metal carrier using eight standoffs. Its surface is completely protected by the upper plexiglass shield. The board is populated inductor coils, metal oxide varistors, heat sinks, terminal strips, stab-on connectors and other connectors, and various capacitors and resistors.
