About the DS2020EXPSG1
Upper DS2020EXPSG1 Board Hardware
This DS2020EXPSG1 Exciter Power Supply Module, as mentioned just above, is the originally-devised product within GE's Mark V Series that does not feature any significant revisions in its assembly; functional or otherwise. With this being the case, it is still true that this DS2020EXPSG1 Exciter Power Supply Module has a special assembly designated by the presence of the DS2020 series tag in its alphanumeric product number. This DS2020EXPSG1 Exciter Power Supply Card module is essentially made up of two halves of different Mark V Series printed circuit board products.:The DS2020EXPSG1 is built:
- upon a metal base with two top hat flanges
- with a metal carrier that carries a secondary circuit board
- this also attaches to the top plexiglass shield
- plexiglass shield carries a large high voltage label
- carrier is factory drilled in four places to facilitate mounting
Lower DS2020EXPSG1 Board Hardware
The lower circuit board portion of the DS2020EXPSG1 is mounted to the lower carrier by standoffs mounted into pre-drilled holes, and is classified officially as a DS200GDPA board, carrying components like:
- transformers
- stab-on connectors
- heat sinks
- fuse components
- transistors
- wire-wound resistors
- high-voltage capacitors
The lower board of the DS2020EXPSG1 assembly also has several LED indicators. The upper circuit board portion of the DS2020EXPSG1 is a DS200EXPS board, which is mounted to the surface of the top metal carrier using eight standoffs. This printed circuit board is completely protected by the upper plexiglass shield, with the board itself being populated by various hardware elements including inductor coils, metal oxide varistors, heat sinks, terminal strips, stab-on connectors and other connectors, and various capacitors and resistors. For more information about this board, including important installation and handling procedures, please refer to data sheets and user guides originally provided by GE.
