Product Description
The GE UC2000 Motherboard DS200UCIBG3AAB features one microprocessor and multiple PROM modules. It also contains 1 block of 10 LEDs and 1 50-pin connector. The GE UC2000 Motherboard DS200UCIBG3AAB also is populated with 1 connector to support the attachment of other boards and 2 3-pin connectors. One ribbon cable is permanently attached to the board and serves as an attachment to a longer ribbon cable that connects to a board or component in the interior of the drive. It is a 34-pin connector that sends and receives signals. Before you remove the old board from the interior of the drive, make note of the ribbon cable attached to the old board and also observe how the cable is routed in the drive.
If possible disconnect the ribbon cable without disturbing the cable routing. You might find it helpful to write on a sticker or short length of tape the ID of the ribbon cable stub. Then attach the sticker or tape to the ribbon cable.
Use two hands when you are disconnecting the ribbon cable from the stub. With one hand firmly hold the stub connector and with the other hand firmly hold the ribbon cable connector. The strands of wire that comprise each signal is fragile and can be accidentally disconnected if pressure is exerted on the connector. Without putting pressure on the stub, gently pull the connectors apart. Move the ribbon cable aside when they are disconnected and try to maintain the cable routing and not disturb it.
