Product Description
The GE DC Power Supply and Instrumentation Board DS200SDCIG1AFB serves as an interface to DC2000 drives. Standard procedures are available that you should follow before you request a replacement board. These procedures can save time and money if what you thought was a broken or defective board was in perfect working condition.
First remove all current to the drive by performing the standard shutdown procedure and then remove the fuses to the power supplies to ensure all power is removed. Wait a length of time to allow all current to leave the drive and the board. If you have standard testing equipment at the site, use it to test for electrical current left in the capacitors.
Inspect the board and note where all cables are connected. Open the latches that hold the board in place in the drive and carefully remove the board from the drive. If ribbon cables are connected to the board, place a hand on the plastic connectors on the board and on the ribbon cable and pull them apart. Try not to put stress on the ribbon cable itself.
Some cables snap into the connector on the board. Use your fingernail to separate the locking tab on the connector and gently remove the cable. Remove any screws that secure wires to the board and save the screws for future use.
Reverse the process and reconnect all cables and wires to the board. Make sure that all cables are pressed firmly into place, all screws are tight, and there is no space visible between connectors.
