Product Description
The GE I/O Expansion Board DS200IOEAG1AAA features five 26-pin connectors and two 40-pin connectors. The GE I/O Expansion Board DS200IOEAG1AAA also is populated with 3 PROM connectors identified as C6, C7, and C8. When you replace the GE I/O Expansion Board DS200IOEAG1AAA you will move the PROM modules from the old board to the new board. In that way when you power on the drive with the new board installed, the configuration will be the same and the drive will operate the same. However, you must make sure you install the PROM modules in the right connectors. To do that, remove one PROM module at a time and note the connector number associated with it. Then install the PROM in the identical connector on the new board.
After a visual inspection, you might find that the new board seems different and the components are located in different places on the board. Also the components might be different colors or be in different shapes. That doesn’t mean that the new board is incompatible with the old board. During the design of a new version, all the improvements to the board are added and this might lead to changes to the board design. However, extensive product testing occurs to ensure that even with multiple updates and design changes, the newest board will be compatible even with the oldest board of the same model. But, if the PROM connectors are located in different locations, you can use the identifiers to know where to instal the PROM modules for error free results.
