The DS3826SSHNTCA, originally from General Electric, was and is used in conjunction with GE Mark IV Speedtronic systems.  The Mark IV is an industrial turbine management system.  It can be used for either steam or gas turbines.   While General Electric began production of Speedtronic systems in the late 1960s, the Mark IV was the first of these systems to offer improved reliability through its TMR (triple modular redundant) control format. 

The DS3826SSHNTCA’s cell stack assemblies are built using MEAs, or membrane electrode assemblies.   MEAs are designed using a membrane, an anode, and a cathode.  Hydrogen ions move through and across the membrane.  As they do this, they bond with oxygen ions.   This bonding process creates heat, water, and electricity.   The MEAs on the cell stack assemblies intersperse with cooling plates and flow field plates.  On each end, there is an endplate.   Each cell stack comes together with other cell stacks to create higher power and voltage.
