General Electric (GE) created the Mark IV system. Mark IV (MKIV) is a part of the Mark series which is used for turbine control. The DS3800XAIB1C1C is a component in the Mark IV system. This device is a printed circuit board or PCB. Mark IV is a system which automates turbine operations and protects the turbine against possible damage.

The DS3800XAIB1C1C contains many various circuit board components. On one half of the board, there are twelve (12) large components. Eight (8) of these components are black and made of plastic. The other four (4) are made of metal and are grey in color. These long components can be identified by the letters ATB. The other half of the DS3800XAIB1C1C is covered with various small components. Many small resistors which are banded in different colors can be found arranged in rows. A number of larger resistors are also located on the DS3800XAIB1C1C. These resistors are brown and they are banded in a variety of colors including brown, white, and gold. Several other resistors which are solid and grey in color can be seen among the banded resistors. Small diodes which are black and grey in color are found on the DS3800XAIB1C1C. A series of jumper pins is also positioned near the center of the DS3800XAIB1C1C. Along with these pins, there are also several blue jumpers. These jumpers can be used to connect any two adjacent pins. This will alter the settings of the DS3800XAIB1C1C. Many small capacitors which are solid blue are arranged in a series of rows on the DS3800XAIB1C1C.
