Product Description

The DS3800NTBL1B1A is a PCB manufactured by GE for the Mark IV series.  This series, which manages gas and steam turbines, is designed to minimize downtime by implementing shifting control built upon built-in intentional redundancies on all critical controls and protection parameters.  

The DS3800NTBL1B1A functions as a bus termination board.  Bus termination boards improve signal quality by providing a termination point for networks that don’t already have one installed.  Without proper signal termination, reflections and standing waves may impede the proper operation of cards plugged into the backplane or even hamper the operation of the computer.  

The DS3800NTBL1B1A is a small card with few components.  The board is drilled in all corners for mounting and is marked 6BA00 and 6DA00.  The GE Mark appears in the upper left. The board is marked “O-True” and “1-True.”  Both of these markings have arrows extending from them to the left and right.

The DS3800NTBL1B1A is built with twenty resistors made of ceramic-covered metal film, all of a single value.  Each resistor is labeled. It is worth noting the board is marked for twenty-three resistors, but R12, R22, and R23 do not have components, only wiring, and PTHs.   The labels for the resistors, starting with R1, are A0 through A7, RS, WS, RST, DAK, STB, D0 through D7, FSR, and ASR.

The DS3800NTBL1B1A has two mating connectors.  These are labeled JA and JB and are both vertical male connectors.  JA has twenty-six pins and JB has twenty.
