Product Description

The DS3800NSFC1J1G is a PCB (printed control board) manufactured by GE for the Mark IV series.  This series was created for steam or gas turbine management and was built with multiple backups on all critical controls and parameters.  These backups allow the Mark IV to shift responsibilities as needed to keep the system up and running, thereby minimizing downtime.

The DS3800NSFC1J1G is a system firing board.  The auxiliary DS3800DSFC can be added to this board.  When this optional auxiliary is added the DS3800NSFC1J1G has access to one more potentiometer.   The auxiliary board is supported at each corner by four nylon pins which have been inserted into the surface of DS3800NSFC1J1G.  Two board-to-board pins hold the auxiliary in place.

The DS3800NSFC1J1G has twelve TP test points and one amber light emitting diode.  This diode is labeled IMOK. The board is populated with two mating connectors (both male, both right-angled) to communicate with other printed circuit boards.  One, placed on the right board edge, is marked 218A4637-P4 9707. The other mating connector is placed on the left board edge.

The DS3800NSFC1J1G has one multi-positional jumper switch.  It has nine transistors, one row of spare PTH, and five resistor network arrays, which may be used for voltage division.  

The DS3800NSFC1J1G is built with extractor/inserter clips installed.  Extractors may help the technician with both insertion or extraction of the PCB, especially from tight locations.  Extractors give the worker a lever point to pull the board from its location, as well as giving the worker a handle, thus protecting components and circuitry, as the board no longer needs to be grasped during installation.

The DS3800NSFC1J1G is built with twenty-eight circuits.  This includes octal d-type transparent latches with clock-enabled input with improved noise rejection, plastic cased hex inverters with a max output voltage of 5.5V, and crystal oscillators.
