Product Description

The DS3800NMSA1B1A is a PCB (printed circuit board) manufactured by GE for the Mark IV Speedtronic system. The Mark IV was designed for steam/gas turbine management and can automate certain procedures such as start-up, cool down, and shut down.   This system is built on integrated PCBs built with intentional redundancies with overlapping responsibilities.

The DS3800NMSA1B1A is designed to have a smaller auxiliary board plug into it via six board-to-board pins located on its right middle.  The information for this auxiliary board is marked on the DS3800NMSA1B1A. Four nylon pins are in place to support the auxiliary’s corners if/when it is installed.

The DS3800NMSA1B1A is built with one amber LED, nine potentiometers, ten integrated circuits, and seventeen TP test points.   The board has one multi-pin PCB mating connector populating its left edge. It also had one Augat connector, which has 28 pins (female.)  

The DS3800NMSA1B1A is built with both CCR (carbon composite) and ceramic-covered metal film resistors.   The board has four board stiffeners installed, including one along its top edge and three across the middle of the board parallel to the short dimensions of the board.  These stiffeners help maintain rigidity in the PCB and decrease the chance of cracking. They also reduce vibration and the chance of shock damage. Extractor clips are installed in two corners to aid with installation or removal from tight locations.
