Product Description

The DS3800NMEA1L1J circuit board from General Electric is a replacement board that fits into the company’s Mark IV turbine control system.  This was one of the middle Speedtronic systems, and the first to offer triple modular redundant control.  With the use of microprocessors, the Mark IV significantly reduced the chance of turbine failure while increasing control reliability.  The Mark IV used modular components and a basic control panel, ensuring the system could be adapted for gas or steam turbine systems of various sizes and complexities. 

The DS3800NMEA1L1J functions as a motor excitation board.  As such, it is part of a system responsible for maintaining a magnetic field in order to keep the turbine spinning properly.   This NMEA board is only one of several available.  Please be sure you are familiar with the other iterations and that you are ordering the correct version for your application. 

The DS3800NMEA1L1J board weighs approximately one pound before it has been made ready for shipment.  The board is drilled for mounting and also includes standoffs for the addition of auxiliary boards.  It does not, however, include these auxiliaries.   The board itself is marked with the GE logo and also many reference designators that will help users identify the many mounted components.  These include integrated circuits, variable resistors (potentiometers), resistors, capacitors, transistors, diodes, test points, and connectors.   Refer to associated manuals for more information regarding proper handling techniques and how to properly install and maintain this equipment.
