Product Description

The  DS3800NGRA1F1A is a regulator board designed by GE for their Mark IV series.  This series was created for steam/gas turbine control. Automation of some processes through the Mark IV is possible (such as start up/shut down/cool down procedures,) to improve the efficiency of the system.  The Mark IV can also monitor air, water, and fuel emissions.

Letter (A through J) and number (10-80) markings have been made on two sides of the DS3800NGRA1F1A for alignment purposes.  The board has factory drill holes in all corners. It is marked NGRA 6DA04 and 6BA04. It also had the GE mark. The components on the board have been marked appropriately for identification.  

The DS3800NGRA1F1A  is built with one Augat connector.  This is a 28-pin female connector. It also has a total of four 218A4637 connectors, two P6 and two P4 connectors.  These through-hole right-angled connectors are located on opposite sides of the board.

Twenty-five circuits have been used on the DS3800NGRA1F1A.  This includes three rigid envelope terminals (U1 through U3.)  Other circuits include hex inverters, analog switches, retriggerable one-shots, precision amplifiers, and voltage comparators.  The highly flexible voltage comparators (LM311) have inputs that can be isolated from the system ground while the output drives loads referenced either to ground the Vcc or the Vee supply.  In this way, the circuit can drive DTL, TTL, RTL or MOS logic.

The board is built with various capacitors, diodes, and resistors.  Resistors tend to be ceramic-covered metal film.
