Product Description

The GE Power Excitation Board DS3800NEPB1B1B can only operate when connected to the GE Mark IV PC Board. The board must be connected to a motor excitation board.  

The DS3800NEPB1B1B board doesn’t have any components that you can replace or service so if the board is defective you must replace it. However the terminal board does have one jumper that you can use to obtain field speed information or field current information on the DS3800NEPB1B1B. For more information on the jumper and obtaining information, refer to the documentation that comes with the terminal board or contact the service representative. The terminal board is another board that can be installed in the power conversion module.

The DS3800NEPB1B1B board is designed to be simple to install in the power conversion module. First, you might have cables to connect to the board. Determine where on the board to connect them by referring to the information that came with the board. Press the cables into place. Then, align the board with the guides on the module and slide the board into place. You must press the board into the connector in the interior of the module.

Make sure the cables do not touch the other boards in the module or interfere with the flow of air. Ventilation is an important consideration when you plan where to install the board. Select a slot that leaves space for the heat to escape the boards and not build up. Make sure the environment in which the module is located is not too hot.
