General Electric created the DS3800NCLA1B1B for their Speedtronic Mark IV series. The Mark IV was made for controlling gas and steam turbines. The DS3800NCLA1B1B is an RS-232 interface card. The Mark IV system automates turbine processes and monitors emissions. Mark IV one of several Mark systems that have been developed over the last few decades, beginning with the Mark I system.

Two medium-sized capacitors are placed close together. A number of other capacitors in different sizes and colors are scattered around the DS3800NCLA1B1B. Featured on the DS3800NCLA1B1B is a long grey box. Eight small components are placed inside the box.
