The GE Pulse Rate Input Board DS3800HPRB is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Pulse Rate Input Board DS3800HPRB also is populated with 12 jumpers and 1 trimmer resistor. The board also is populated with 1 programmable interrupt controller, multiple programmable interval timer devices, and multiple capacitors.

When you receive the replacement GE Pulse Rate Input Board DS3800HPRB, there are several considerations to keep in mind. Before you install the replacement board, you must set the jumpers to match the positions of the jumpers on the original board. You must also adjust the trimmer resistor to match the resistance of the original trimmer resistor on the old board.

The jumpers on the board all have an ID with a prefix of the letter J. The prefix is followed by a numerical value that is unique to the jumper. A few examples of jumper IDs are J6, J8, and J11. When the board is installed the servicer sets the jumpers to configure the board to process signals as required by the site. The servicer will record  the jumper settings and keep the settings with the other important information about the board. This includes the original shipping label, the bill of sale, warranty information, and contact information for customer service.

Before you install the replacement board, use the recorded jumper settings to set the jumpers on the new board to match the settings on the original board.
