About the DS3800HMPK1K1K

The GE Microprocessor Board DS3800HMPK1K1K is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Microprocessor Board DS3800HMPK1K1K also is populated with 3 red indicator LEDs and 1 amber LED which are visible from the front of the board. The board also is populated with a microprocessor, erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) modules, and a 34-pin connector. It also is populated with 2 50-pin connectors.

The GE Microprocessor Board DS3800HMPK1K1K can have a maximum of 3 ribbon cables attached to it. The large ribbon cables can potentially block the air flow which is used to move the heat from the interior of the drive. Proper cable routing can help maintain the air flow through the drive. The 2 50-pin connectors are on the surface of the board and if not routed properly can block air from reaching the microprocessor. The microprocessor is hot and will cause an overheat condition if allowed to heat the interior of the drive. Fold the 50-pin ribbon cables so that they exit from the top of the board between the retention levers. This will allow air to flow through the board. Route the cables to the interior wall of the drive to allow for the free movement of air.
