The GE Microprocessor Board DS3800HMPK1B1B is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Microprocessor Board DS3800HMPK1B1B also is populated with 3 red indicator LEDs and 1 amber LED which are visible from the front of the board. The board also is populated with a microprocessor, erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) modules, and a 34-pin connector. It also is populated with 2 50-pin connectors.
Because the GE Microprocessor Board DS3800HMPK1B1B is populated with a microprocessor, special consideration must be given to reducing the heat inside the drive. The microprocessor generates heat which must be exhausted from the drive. The drive must be installed in a location with room-temperature air. This is problematic in some locations due to the number of drives and other heavy-duty machines installed in the room.
However, there are some ways to remedy the situation. The drive is installed on a wall or other vertical surface. If the wall is warm before you install the drive, take steps to cool the wall before installation. Inspect the room on the other side of the wall and notice the number of drives installed in the room. If the room temperature is too warm because of the drives, consider reducing the number of drives installed in the room. Another possibility is to install exhaust fans to remove the excessive heat from the room. The exhaust fans can also remove dust, dirt, moisture, and oil from the room air. This would result is a cool and clean environment.
