The GE Log Dr Bus Interface Board DS3800HLOA is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Log Dr Bus Interface Board DS3800HLOA also is populated with 16 red indicator LEDs and 1 amber indicator LED which are visible from the front of the board. The board also features 8 jumpers and 1 erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) module.

This is due in part because of the modular connector on the rear of the board. The drive has a matching connector on the rear of the board rack. When you slide the board into the rack the two modular connectors meet. They are designed to so that when one slides into the other, electrical and signal connections are made to allow the board to function.

The other usability feature is the retention levers on the other end of the board. When you slide the board into the rack, the modular connectors attach and the retention levers align with the board rack. Press down on the levers to lock the board in the drive. This also locks the modular connectors together and ensures power and signal connectivity.

One important consideration is that the drive must have all power removed before installing the board. The drive has more than 1 source of electrical power.
