The DS3800HLNA1D1A is a Network Controller for the Mark IV Speedtronic system.  The Mark IV is a turbine control system from General Electric that is the first of the Speedtronic control systems to offer TMR control.  This type of control significantly decreased downtime over previous Speedtronic systems by distributing control across several redundant microprocessor-controlled systems. 

The  DS3800HLNA1D1A is a rectangular circuit board that weighs approximately 0.57 pounds before the addition of external boxing required for safe shipping.  Your FOB shipping weight will be higher. 

The  DS3800HLNA1D1A board includes two extractor clips mounted into factory drilled holes on the board’s leading edge.  These clips allow the board to be inserted into a rack system or removed from it with more ease and with less potential for damage to leading-edge components.    This edge is populated by several LED indicators, a right-angled connector, and several TP test points.    Other board components include jumper switches, integrated circuits, resistors, capacitors, and a large backplane connector located on the rear board edge. 

It is important to note that users should make note of the position of all user-configurable components like jumper switches when removing their previous board components.  These settings should be duplicated on the replacement board to ensure proper configuration.
